Greetings from Rotary family of Belgaum North
We have received an Matching Grant to help provide for 30 heart surgeries to Children below the age of 15 years. Our partners are from RI Idstrct 3450, Hong Kong.
Under this grant, the operation will be performed by Dr. M. D. Dixit in KLE's Prabhakar Kore Hospital, Belgaum.
Any President of a Rotary Club from our District may recommend a genuinely poor child needing this surgery. We will fund to a maximum extent of Rs. 50000.00 per surgery from this grant. The balance amount if any will have to be provided by the guardians of the patient, sponsor club or any other source. KLE hospital provides application forms for Prime Minister Fund and Chief Minister Fund. The excess surgery cost can be availed from these two funds. Sponsoring Rotary Clubs are requested to help the guardians in getting these two forms endorsed from the local MP and MLA respectively. This process will take around 2 months. Once an approval is received from the respective offices, KLE will go ahead with the surgery and collect the assured sum from these funds subsequently.
We wish to add here that a Mediclaim insurance upto a maximum amount of Rs. 150000.00 is available for the children of Goa and Govt. of Karnataka has provided a insurance for such surgeries without any higher limit for SCHOOL GOING CHILDREN in Karnataka only under their Arogya Chaitanya Scheme. Rotarians are requested to help such children in getting a letter from their School Principal and direct them to KLE Hospital. Members of Rotary Belgaum North will follow up in such cases.
We have received many applications from various clubs of our District prior to the receipt of this grant. All of them are requested to get in touch with me for fixing up the date for the check up of the child by Dr. Dixit and finalising the date of their surgeries. The Presidents are requested to address their request letters on their Club Letter Heads to our President Rtn. Narayan D. Bamane and send it to me with copies to DG Dr. Jorson, DRFC Bazil, DGSC Prakash and your respective AG's, DGSC Prakash had circulated a form earlier for application and I request him to send me the details so that we can plan for the surgeries.
